Bernard Lagat to Race Gold Coast Marathon in July

Bernard Lagat will race July 7 at the Gold Coast Marathon in Australia.

Lagat, 44, has made a transition to the roads following a successful track career for both the U.S. and Kenya. He made his marathon debut at the 2018 New York City Marathon, finishing 18th in 2:17:20.

Prior to his marathon debut, Lagat represented the U.S. at the 2018 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, where he finished 31st in 1:02:16. He owns a half marathon best of 1:02:00.
